The factory throat plate on the Festool Kapex KS60 leaves a wide gap around the blade that allows timber, veneers, and laminates to flex and splinter on the back edge of the cut. A zero clearance insert replaces that plate with a tight-fitting opening that supports the workpiece right up to the blade, reducing tear-out and giving you cleaner, more accurate results across timber, MDF, and delicate sheet materials.
