DeWalt Table Saw Zero Clearance Insert — Kerf Plate with Locking Nut & Riving Knife Slot for DWE7492, 7491, 7490, 744–746, 7480

Standard table saw inserts leave a gap around the blade that lets small offcuts drop through and causes tearout on the underside of your workpiece. A zero clearance insert eliminates that gap — you fit the plate with the blade lowered, then raise the spinning blade through the plate to create a kerf that's exactly blade-width. The result is cleaner cuts with proper material support right to the edge of the blade.

Item was good qulaity and fit is good

Item was good qulaity and fit is good. The riving knife slot is not quite long enough, but it is still usable once the blade slot is cut, though it's tight. I had trouble cutting the blade slot as I could not fit and secure the kerf plate as the blade touched the kerf plate and held it proud by about 10mm. I solved this be sandwiching the new keft plate on top of the old kerf plate with a piece of timber and then raising the saw blade.

The zero tolerance insert was easy to set up and works a treat

The zero tolerance insert was easy to set up and works a treat. I rip boards to 5 to 7mm thicknesses to make jewellery boxes, and since installing the zero tolerance insert I now get clean cuts as the wood is no longer being pulled into the gap next to the blade on the original kerf plate.
