Tear-out on the rear face of a workpiece is a common problem on mitre saws, particularly when cutting fine timber or veneered panels. This zero clearance backplate insert clips into the factory half-circle recess on the Kapex KS 120 EB fence bracket, creating a solid backing surface directly behind the blade to support the timber fibres through the cut. The insert is supplied without a pre-cut blade slot — the blade cuts its own opening on first use, creating a true zero clearance fit to your saw's geometry.

Fitment

• Designed for the Festool Kapex KS 120 EB mitre saw
• Clips into the factory half-circle recess in the centre of the fence bracket
• Install by clipping in the insert, loosening both side fences, sliding them inward until the locating tabs are captured, then locking the fences back into position
• PETG construction handles regular workshop use and resists warping over time
